Hello beautiful! I want to ask you a question. How are you doing on your race? Are you finding yourself struggling to get to the finish line? Do you find yourself distracted with things such as work, family, life, or other concerns? Do these distractions cause your faith walk to sometimes waiver or trip up? What about things from your past, do they cause you to question your worth, your gifts, or your calling? The book of Hebrews has a section sometimes referred to as the Hall of Faith. It tells us about the many pioneers who, despite their struggles kept their faith "even to the point of death." Why? Because they knew there was something far more greater than what they were having to endure. Jesus was the ultimate example. He faced some of the same temptations as we do and yet He did not lose focus. He endured seeing those He loved lie on and talk about Him. He even endured the pain and embarrassment of the cross. And why is that? Because He knew the joy that was waiting for Him. In Hebrews we are told to let go of the things that easily distract us so that we can more easily focus on Jesus. That in doing so we will have the patience and endurance we need to persevere (Heb. 12:1-3, paraphrased).
